This is often caused by restriction at the psoas muscles, otherwise known as the hip flexors. Stretching often isn't helpful however, because they are often weak and tight. Stretching them just makes them tighter. The weakness is often caused by fibrotic build-up of the tissue over time. Breaking up the fibrotic tissue via soft tissue techniques is highly-effective and can provide a lasting solution.
